Poles are increasingly interested in purchasing foreign real estate

In 2024 alone, Poles made a record 4,259 transactions in Spain.

In recent years, we have seen a dynamic increase in Poles' interest in purchasing real estate abroad. Investors from Poland are increasingly choosing Spain, Portugal and Cyprus, combining the purchase with the possibility of rental income, emigration or owning a ‘second home’ for retirement. In 2024 alone, Poles made a record 4,259 transactions in Spain – almost 37% more than in the previous year, making them the ninth largest group of foreign buyers on the local market.

According to industry analyses, Poles are beginning to look for attractive rates of return in the tourist rental segment – especially in Mediterranean countries, but also in more exotic locations such as Dubai and Thailand. Cheaper markets such as Bulgaria and Montenegro, offering affordability and favourable tax conditions, are also becoming increasingly popular. Analysts predict that by 2030, the share of Poles in real estate purchases in the EU may increase to 5% if the current investment momentum continues.
